Former Ranji player commits suicide

Allahabad, Oct 13 (UNI) A former Uttar Pradesh Ranji player Rambabu Pal today allegedly committed suicide by hanging at his house in Gadarian-ka-Purwa area here.

According to police, Pal, who had played at least 16 Ranji matches, was found hanging from the ceiling fan.

He was employed as a cashier with the main SBI branch here.

Pal had also played alongside Sachin Tendulkar in Under-19 matches, reports said.

The victim was married two years ago.

All his brothers are also sportspersons.

Meanwhile, investigations were on.
