Farmers stage agitation outside Suzlon plant in Nashik Dist

Nashik, Oct 12 (UNI) Farmers from four villages staged demonstrations outside the Suzlon plant at village Jamgaon in Sinnar taluka of the district yesterday.

According to sources, farmers from 4 villages -- Jamgaon, Paste, Khaprale, and Ghodewadi -- held demonstrations at the wind mill energy plant of the company.

They were led by district unit of Sambhaji Brigade president Ganesh Kadam and D D Godse, working president of Maratha Seva Sangh.

They also handed over a memorandum of their demands to the company officials. Their main demands include Rs 3 lakh per hectare for their land, jobs for their kins in the project and preference to local people.

The company officials assured them that they will find a solution to their problems till October 20. After the assurance, the agitation was called off.

The company officials declined to comment.
