AP: NIMS, WHRI to work on clinical research

Hyderabad, Oct 13: The Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with William Harvey Research Institute (WHRI), University of London, UK for offering post graduate course in clinical research and drug development.

The MoU is aimed at offering internationally recognised clinical trial training programme to meet the standards of the US and European countries, a release said here.

The collaboration with WHRI, which has a structured programme for training in clinical research and drug discovery, would solve the shortage of skilled manpower in the country.

The two institutes would also take up joint clinical research in cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, inflammatory diseases (rheumato-arthritis), endocrinology (especially diabetes), pharmacogenomics and stem cell therapy.
