New Delhi, Oct 12 (UNI) The Supreme Court today declined to entertain on an urgent basis a petition filed by AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa seeking prosecution of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and Union Minister T R Baalu, among others, for defying the apex court order not to enforce a statewide bandh on the Sethusamudram issue on October 1.

A Bench comprising Justice B N Agrawal and Justice V S Sirpurkar, however, directed that the petition should be listed for hearing along with the main matter on October 29. The petition also includes the names of the State Chief Secretary, the DGP and other state government officials.

The court was of the opinion that there was no urgency in the matter and it could be heard with the main petition seeking a declaration from Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) that that Ram Sethu is a monument of national heritage and hence cannot be demolished.
