Subbiah remembered

Puducherry, Oct 12 (UNI) Rich floral tributes were paid to CPI leader and former Minister V Subbiah on his 14th death anniversary here today.

Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy, Education Minister M O H F Shajahan, Legislators and Puducherry Municipal Chairperson Sreedevi were among those who garlanded the statue of the leader, who played a vital role in the liberation of Puducherry from French colonialism.

CPI State Secretary Na Ra Kalainathan, MLA, National Council member R Viswanathan, MLA, and party functionaries also garlanded the statue to mark the occasion.

Earlier, CPI volunteers took out a silent precession from the Indira Gandhi square to the Subbiah statue.
