Silver, gold close higher on bullish global advice

Mumbai, Oct 12 (UNI) The precious metals closed high for the third consecutive day today with silver rising sharply by Rs 120 per kg and gold by 15 per ten gm on lack of offers from stockists and encouraging advice from global and upcountry markets, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said.

Following are the closing rates of spot silver and gold: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade : Rs 18,280 (18,160) Gold (per 10 gm) Gold 99.5 purity standard mint : Rs 9,540 (9,525) Gold 99.9 purity pure gold : Rs 9,590 (9,575).
