Rupee touches new high in intra-day trade

Mumbai, Oct 12 (UNI) Rupee kicked off strong at 39.29/31 per dollar, slightly above of the last close of 39.30 per dollar and touched a fresh nine year high during the intra-day trade.

At 1220 hrs it was quoted at 39.25 per dollar, which was dubbed as a fresh nine year high by the forex dealers.

Strong inflows and abstinence of Reserve bank from the forex market largely favoured the unit despite a bearish Sensex which opened nearly 20 points down from the previous close.

During the intra-day, Rupee touched a low of 39.34 per dollar and is currently trading at 39.25 per dollar.
