Jummatul Vida prayers pass off peacefully
Hyderabad, Oct 12 (UNI) A day after the bomb blast at the Sufi Shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer, the Jummatul Vida prayers passed off peacefully last Friday of holy Ramzan amidst tight security in the historic Mecca Masjid and other Mosques in the state.
Police placed metal detectors at the entrance of places of worship and namazis had been asked to pass through them. Police did not allow mobile phones inside the masjids.
Police also put up CCTVs at the places of worship in the wake of the recent bomb blasts at Lumbini Park, Gokul Chat and in Mecca Masjid.
Nearly 26,000 police personnel had also been deployed to provide security for Ramzan and Ganesh Chaturthi.
No untoward incidents were reported from any part of the state, they added.
