Illicit IMFL unit busted in Pondy

Puducherry, Oct 12 (UNI) Puducherry Excise Police today busted an illicit 'IMFL' manufacturing unit at Gundu Road in Mettuppalayam near here.

On a tip off, an excise team, led by Deputy Collector Anbazhagan, raided a house and arrested one Balu (20), sources said.

The team also seized about one lakh labels, spirit, empty bottles and corks, besides equipment worth over Rs one lakh.

Balu, who used to sell the product in Tamil Nadu, was on bail after being arrested in connection with running a unit at Kombakkam.
