Governor refuses to comment on formation of the next government

Bangalore, Oct 12 (UNI) Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur, who took over the administration of the state, following the imposition of President's rule, refused to comment on the formation of next government in the state.

Speaking to newsmen after holding a meeting of senior-level officials here today he said that he would function in accordance with the provisions of the Indian Constitution and on non-partisan manner.

Refusing to comment on the political uncertainty the Governor said that he would not wish to answer any questions of political nature. "I can not also foresee about any future developments," he said.

The first day of the office of Governor was marred by protest by Kannada Vatal Paksha legislator Vatal Nagaraj who greeted Rameshwar Thakur by waving black flag and loud slogan "Governor Go Back". "The Governor had not taken any initiative to install the popular government after the fall of H D Kumaraswamy government," Mr Nagaraj alleged.
