Five held for burning live woman, child

Nashik, Oct 12 (UNI) Five people have been arrested from Takyacha Pada (Dahivi) village in Dindori taluka of the district for allegedly killing a woman along with her seven-month-old baby by burning them alive.

The five -- Tatiram Kashiram Chaudhary, Pandharinath Kashiram Chaudhary, Hirabai Ramchandra Chaudhary, Mohnabai Ananda Gangurde and Ananda Gangurde have been arrested under sections 498, 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) yesterday.

According to police, the victim, identified as Sushila Tatiram Chaudhary (32), was burnt alive with her child, Yograj Tatiram Chaudhary, on October 10 by her husband and others. Initially, after their marriage, Tatiram and his parents were unhappy that Sushila was unable to conceive and was not performing any household chores.

Tatiram's parents were of the opinion that the couple should adopt his elder brother's son, but Sushila was against this. Tatiram also had an illicit relationship with a woman Hirabai Ramchandra Chaudhary. Sushila was also against this relationship. As a result, the five accused killed Sushila and her son, police added.
