CME 2007 begins in the city
Hyderabad, Oct 12 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Health Galla Aruna inaugurated the 10th Annual International Continuing Medical Education (CME) 2007 meet on 'Obesity, Heart, Hypertension, Diabetes and Lipids (OHHDL)' here today.
The Minister said inactivity was the prime reason for obesity in children. We used to play when we were children but today schools hardly had playgrounds for the children to play, he claimed.
Government was concerned about the growing rate of obesity among children and had introduced 'Arogyasree' scheme in few districts in the State.
The Minister lauded the efforts of the Mediciti Hospital, which was organising this meet for bringing doctors of international repute to Hyderabad to train the local students and doctors.
The objective of the CME was to impart continuous education, serve the society and develop innovative strategies to effective treatment said Program Chairperson Dr P S Reddy.
UNI
