Army motorcycle expedition flagged off

Jalandhar, Oct 12 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Light Regimental Centre has undertaken a motorcycle expedition as part of Regiment's Diamond Jubilee Year celebrations.

Sub Area Commander Brig BB Patil, who flagged off the 17-member expedition team from here yesterday, said that it would cover an approximate distance of 2500 km passing through treacherous mountainous route in the Himalayas.

The team would traverse through Hardwar, Imphal, Leh, Partapur, Kargil and Srinagar in 21 days with halts at various Army units and headquaters enroute.

The motorcycle team would get an excellent opportunity to study flora and fauna of the country during the expedition, Brig Patil said.

The aim of the expedition was to inculcate the spirit of adventure and team spirit among the soldiers, he added.
