Ajmer aftermath: High security in MP

Bhopal, Oct 12 (UNI) Security arrangements have been made around Madhya Pradesh's religious places in the wake of yesterday's blast at the Ajmer mausoleum of Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chisti.

Tension prevailed today at the state's commercial capital Indore, where a mob pelted stones after some persons opened shops despite a bandh call by a certain community in protest against the Ajmer blast. The situation was brought under control due to prompt intervention by police.

''Due to the start of the festive season, security was tightened here and in major towns. A vigil is being maintained in crowded areas, hotels, lodges and railway stations,'' a Police Headquarters spokesman told UNI.

Special Armed Force platoons would be deployed in sensitive places and the Rapid Action Force and Special Task Force have been ordered to be on standby.

''About 1,000 police personel are stationed here,'' Superintendent of Police A K Singh said.
