Agriculture officer caught red handed while accepting bribe

Patna, Oct 12 (UNI) Sleuths of Bihar state vigilance bureau today arrested Block Agriculture Extension Officer (BAEO) of Chakia from his office in East Champaran district, while he was accepting Rs 2000 as bribe.

State vigilance sources said here that acting on a tip-off a sleuth of bureau raided the office of BAEO Ram Sagar Mishra and caught him red handed when receiving the cash from one Uma Shankar Singh for releasing Rs 30,000 as subsidy amount to purchase a tractor.

The trap was laid on complaint of Mr Singh that he had already paid Rs 3,000 to Mr Mishra to release fund and the officer was demanding Rs 2000 more for the same. The arrest officer was being interrogated, sources added.
