Vijayawada-based devotees donate Rs 20 lakh worth paintings

Tirumala, Oct 11 (UNI) Vijayawada-based devotees today donated Rs 20 lakh worth Thanjavur paintings to the Lord Venkateswara temple here.

Two of the devotees Nandamuri Ramaprasad and Latha Rani told newspersons that the paintings, comprising of 13 photos were handed over to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Trust Board Chairman B Karunakara Reddy and Executive Officer K V Ramanachary.

The paintings would be displayed at "Vaikuntam" Queue Complex-II compartments, where the pilgrims wait for free darshan.

One devotee also donated Rs 60,000 to TTD for its free meal scheme, he added.
