US mission adjusts consular exchange rate from Rs 42 to Rs 40

New Delhi, Oct 11 (UNI) Citing the recent rise in the value of the rupee against the US dollar, United States consular sections in the country today said it will adjust the exchange rate from Rs 42 to Rs 40 to the US dollar with effect from October 15.

The rate change applies to all rupee-denominated costs for visa and passport applications, including the non-immigrant visa application fee paid at HDFC bank branches prior to the scheduling of visa appointments.

The new application fee for non-immigrant visas is Rs 4,000, which does not include additional processing fees charged by HDFC bank and appointment service provider VFS.
