Two killed, 3 injured as car hits lorry

Chennai, Oct 11 (UNI) Two persons were killed and three others injured, when the car in which they were travelling rammed into a stationary lorry near Kannagi Statue on Beach road in the wee hours of today.

Police said, Sathyaraj (35), a supervisor in a private car rental firm and his colleagues Perumal, Satheesh, Naveen and three others were returning to office after conducting some vehicle inspections.

While travelling along the beach road, the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the lorry.

In the impact, five people in the car were injured and rushed to the Government General Hospital, where Sathyaraj and the driver Premnath succumbed to their injuries.

Perumal, Satheesh and Naveen were undergoing treatment.
