Sugar prices advance on brisk seasonal demand

Navi Mumbai, Oct 11 (UNI) Wholesale sugar prices today advanced by Rs 15 per quintal on brisk seasonal bulk and retail consumers demand, traders at the wholesale sugar market said.

Prices of small and medium grades (per quintal) were again up by Rs 15 and Rs ten respectively on reduced offers by stockists in the face of lesser stock arrivals from mills.

Sugar in ex-mill small and medium grades (per quintal) also rose by Rs ten each on brisk demand by local dealers, traders said.

Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,370/1,406, Medium grade: Rs 1,398/1,490.

Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,340/1,370, Medium grade: Rs 1,370/1450.
