Salem coming to his native town after 20 yrs

Azamgarh, Oct 11 (UNI) Mafia don Abu Salem would be in his native village Saraimeer after 20 long years to perform the last rites of his mother tomorrow.

The don, presently lodged in a Mumbai jail for his involvement in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, would be brought to the Pathan Tola locality at village Saraimeer on tomorrow under tight security.

Talking to UNI here today, Police Superintendent Prakash Tripathi said Salem would be brought to Varanasi aboard a train. Thereafter, he would be brought to Azamgarh through road.

Police and PAC in strength would be deployed on these routes, he informed.

Janutun Nisha, Salem's mother, died in Mumbai on Tuesday, following a prolonged illness. She was 75.

The family had moved the special court in Mumbai to seek parole for Salem to attend the last rites of his mother.

The SP added the don would attend the funeral in the evening and bury his mother's mortal remains at Supurd-e-khak park. He would later be taken to Mumbai under tight security.
