Reliance Retail launches first apparel speciality store

Gurgaon, Oct 11 (UNI) As part of its Rs 25,000 crore investment plans in the retail business, Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) is launching its first apparel speciality store Reliance Trends here tomorrow.

The comopany plans to open 100 such stores across the country over the next three years envisaging revenues of one lakh crore in the next five years, from all its retail business projects.

Reliance Trends store at Ambi Mall offers some of the best 100 plus Indian and International brands in 30,000 sq ft of shopping area, and has been designed and furnished by the best of breed international designers to offer a high quality and lavish shopping experience to the Indian consumers.

Earlier, RIL's arm Reliance Retail Ltd (RRL) had opened Reliance Mart in Ahmedabad, over 350 Reliance Fresh stores in many cities and Reliance Digital in Ghaziabad (UP).

Continuing the tradition of reaching out to the middle class of the country, the current offering from Reliance Trends is easily affordable to the Indian consumer. The specific private label called First Class, is designed to cater to a range of garments cutting across mens's, women's and children's wear to deliver extreme value to the Indian consumers.

''The company is offering solutions to common maintenance problems through its state-of-the-art innovative products like Ever White Shirts, Anti-Stain Trousers, Wrinkle Free range of garments, aromatic clothes for infants and quick-dry sports wear that ensures optimum moisture management,'' said Mr Arun Deshmukh, CEO, Reliance Apparel Division on the eve of the launch of the first apparel store from the stable of Reliance Retail.

Reliance Trends has a full-fledged RIL's own Vimal range fabrics and products at a separate column, he added.

''We like to be the largest player in this business,'' Mr Deshmukh said and added that experts team of designers from the UK, the US and other countries along with Indian designers are working on the products and are based in Bangalore to bring out best of designs in clothing.

Some of the quality standards that are being followed are American Association of Textiles, Chemists&Colorists, American Standard, ISO&BIS test methods.

''For the first time in organised retail, Reliance Trends is introducing a Made-to-Measure tailoring service, offering customised fits to all the customers buying fabrics from the store at prices comparable to their neighbourhood tailors,'' Mr Deshmukh mentioned.

Apart from private labels, the store is also offering some of the most renowned brands in the country like Lee, Wrangler, Peter England, John Players, Black Berry's, Gini n Jony, Liliput, Indigo Nation, Biba and designer labels like AND either directly or through their sub-brands, msot of these exclusively for Reliance Trends.
