Punjab govt shifts PR department secretary, director

Chandigarh, Oct 11 (UNI) The Punjab government today shifted the Secretary and Director of the Information and Public Relations department, an official release here stated, Senior IAS officer D S Jaspal was again brought back as Secretary Information and Public Relations in place of Jagjit Puri, who will continue to hold charge of Medical Education. Similarly A S Bains, a PCS officer and director of the PR department has been replaced by Tejveer Singh, an IAS officer, who will continue to be Special Secretary, Planning and Special Economic Package.

Mr Bains will continue as Director Land Records at Jalandhar, a post he had been holding for the last four years.

Mr B K Srivastva has been made the Director General, Mahatama Gandhi State Institue of Public Administration, while T R Sarangal, Secretary, Health and Family Welfare and Director of National Rural Health Mission will also be the Director, AIDS Control Society relieving K B S Sidhu of the additional charge. Mr K B S Sidhu will be the new Director AYUSH.

Mr Khushi Ram, Special Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies will hold additional charge of Director SCs and BCs. Ms Manisha Trighatia will be the new additional secretary, education and also director general, school education.

The PCS officers transfered were Kulwant Singh, who goes as ADC (development) at Amritsar, H S Pabla, who will be Controller, Printing and Stationery and Davinder Saroya who has been posted as additional secretary, housing and urban development. The other PCS officers affected by the transfer are Mohan Lal, who goes as ADC of Kapurthala, Sanjay Popli who will be joint director, industries and commerce, Dilraj Singh, who goes as joint secretary, tourism, T K Goyal, will be the new joint secretary, transport and Amandeep Bansal who has been posted as ADC (general) at Sangrur.
