PDP seeks compensation for fire-affected families in Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 11 (UNI) The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a ruling coalition partner in Jammu and Kashmir, today urged the Congress-led government to assess the loss suffered due to a major fire that damaged property worth crores at Safa Kadal here on Tuesday.

In a statement here, PDP district president Srinagar Sheikh Abdul Rehman sought assessment of loss due to the fire that devastated about 36 houses at Nalbandpora in the Safa Kadal area of old city on Tuesday night.

Mr Rehman expressed solidarity with the affected families and demanded compensation for the victims.

He called upon the authorities to work for the expeditious rehabilitation of the affected families.
