Patkar alleges rehab-linked corruption

Dhar, MP, Oct 11 (UNI) Narmada Bachao Andolan leader Medha Patkar has accused the Narmada Valley Development Authority and Madhya Pradesh Revenue Department officials of large-scale corruption in rehabilitating Sardar Sarovar dam oustees.

''The corruption runs to Rs 300 crore. Besides wanton allotment of plots, fake registration is taking place,'' she said yesterday while addressing an oustees' meeting at this district's Dharampuri tahsil headquarters.

On the one hand a dispute was going on over plot allotment at Dharampuri while on the other the state government is claiming that rehabilitation work was completed, the activist added.
