J D (S) condemns Ajmer Sharif blast

New Delhi, Oct 11 (UNI) The Janata Dal (Secular) today condemned the blast at the Ajmer Sharif in Rajasthan, and asked the State Government to identify and punish the perpetrators of such inhuman act.

J D (S) Secretary General K Danish Ali said the state government should have provided adequate security cover to the Durgah after the Centre had issued an alert that the terrorists were likely to target pilgrim towns during the festive season of Ramzan, Id-ul-fitr and Dushera.

Initial reports said one person was dead and 12 others were injured in the blast in Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chisti's durgah at around 1815 hrs shortly after the roza 'iftar'. .

The injured should be provided with best possible medical assistance and adequate compensation given to the families of the dead, the party demanded.
