IT continues search operations on chemical units for 2nd day

Mumbai, Oct 11 (UNI) The income tax search operations continued at various chemical units across Maharashtra and Gujarat, on the second day today.

''The search operations are still on,'' Director General of Investigation, Mumbai N S S Moorthy told UNI today.

Mr Moorthy, however, refused to divulge the details of the operation.

Taxmen from the two states have been conducting search operations on chemical units in Mumbai and Thane in Maharshtra, and Ankleshwar, Vapi, Baroda and a couple of other places in Gujarat since yesterday in connection with the large-scale tax evasion.

Over 200 officials of the department are said to be engaged in the operation.
