HC stays arrest of 3 suspended IPS officers in recruitment scam

Lucknow, Oct 11 (UNI) Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court today stayed the arrest of three suspended senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of Uttar Pradesh cadre.

The concerned officials B K Bhalla, Malkhan Singh and Krishna Kumar Saxena had been charged with involvement in the alleged UP police recruitment scam.

This order was passed by a division bench comprising Justices Abdul Matin and A K Singh hearing their petition seeking stay on arrest.

Meanwhile, the state government has been given four weeks' to file its reply.

A case was registered against these officers at Mahanagar police station for their alleged involvement in the recruitment scam during the previous Mulayam Singh Yadav regime in 2005-06.
