E-City Ventures enters B'lore with multiplex

Bangalore, Oct 11 (UNI) E-city Ventures promoted Fun Cinemas, a cinema exhibition and entertainment company, today announced its entry into Bangalore by opening a multiplex theatre.

Announcing the opening of the company's 15th multiplex property in the country, E-City Vebtures CEO Atul Goel said the company proposed to have 1,500 screens by 2011 from the present 240 screens in the country.

In the South, the company had already one multiplex in Gulbarga and proposed to foray into Mysore very shortly.

Built over an area of 33,000 sq ft, the multiplex here was equipped with the state-of-the-art technology and three-way surround sound system.

The auditorium's seating arrangement offered options to choose from Gold Class and the Silver Class according to individual budgets.

To a question, Mr Goel said ''there is still a lot to be desired in terms of a truly world-class cinema experience in India.

''Especially in Tier II and Tier III cities, the cinema-goers do not have much choice when it comes to demanding world class quality experience.

''We are committed to bring this fascinating experience to the doorsteps of every Indian.'' Company Chief Operating Officer Vishal Kapur said the tickets could be booked online and food ordered online.

To a question, he said the introductory prices of tickets would be Rs 100 and Rs 120 and may be increased later.
