Dr Maru to deliver lecture on information management for agriculture

Ahmedabad, Oct 11 (UNI) Agricultural expert Dr Ajit Maru will deliver a lecture on ''Emerging Challenges in Information Management and Communications for Food and Agriculture in India'' at Anand tomorrow.

The lecture is being organised by ADIT at its Vallabh Vidyanagar auditorium in Anand.

Dr Maru is presently with the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations and is involved in development and implementation of information systems related to agriculture and agricultural research for more than 25 years, a release said here today.

He has served in various institutes of the Indian National Agricultural Research including the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) in various capacities. At present he is with the Global Forum on Agricultural Research (GFAR) and is Officer in Charge of its Secretariat at Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations at Rome.
