Bangalore, Oct 11 (UNI) The tension ridden life in the cities and deeply entrenched corruption in government offices resulted in a lady doctor committing suicide by injecting an anesthetic injection.
The 50-year-old Dr Radhika, working as Superintendent at the Indiranagar ESI hospital here committed suicide in her room as she was unable to overcome the tension at the work place.
Police said that the suicide note left behind by the Dr Radhika stated that she was disturbed by the recent developments which had led to the delay in her getting the deserved promotion as Director of the hospital in which she had put up 18 years of service.
The staff of the hospital said that the doctor had worked under great stress during the recent times. Some higher officials reportedly denied her getting the post after she had refused to pay the hefty bribe they had demanded to show the official favour.
Not that Dr Radhika had no means to pay the money demanded by the officials but she was against such practices. She leaves behind her husband an Executive Engineer in Irrigation department, daughter who is a software engineer and the son who is studying MBA in a city college.
