Debt-ridden farmer commits suicide

Kolhapur, Oct 11 (UNI) A debt-ridden farmer allegedly committed suicide in Bhadgaon village at Gadinglaj tehsil of Kolhapur district.

Police said Laxman Siddhappa Yelure (42) had strangled himself to death at his house yesterday.

Laxman had taken a loan of around Rs 50,000 from a local credit society. He took the extreme step because of his inability to repay the loan, the police added.
