CITU to hold demonstrations in Orissa

Bhubaneswar, Oct 11 (UNI) The Orissa unit of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) today announced to hold demonstrations all over the state on October 30 in response to the call given by its Central Executive Committee against the Indo-US Nuclear Deal.

CITU state president Lambodar Nayak told newspersons here that they would organise a meeting of the unions at the local and regional level and hold demonstrations in all districts to make the call a success.

The CITU central committee had given the call for a nationwide agitation against the Indo-US nuclear treaty, price rise and entry of big business houses in the retail business sector.

It also demanded the formulation of an Act to protect the interests of the workers in the unorganised sector and amend the Special Economic Zone Act.
