Bomb threat turns hoax in BHEL

Tiruchirapalli, Oct 11(UNI) An anonymous phone caller, who claimed that bombs were planted in the canteen and a few other places on the public sector Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited(BHEL) office here today turned outa hoax.

Police said the caller rang up the Canteen Supervisor Ramamoorthy and informed him that the bombs might explode at any moment.

Mr Ramamoorthy immediately alerted the higher-ups.

A police party along with a bomb detection squad conducted a thorough check-up in the office premises but found nothing indiscriminatory.

After a thorough examination, police found that the call was made from a public booth. Efforts were on to trace the caller, police added.
