BJP corporator opposes implementation of SAP in BMC

Mumbai, Oct 11 (UNI) BJP corporator Ashish Shelar from Bandra, a western suburb, today opposed the implementation of Session Announcement Protocol (SAP) in the e-governance project of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Addressing a news conference here, Mr Shelar said the people behind the implementation of SAP were not aware of the mechanisms and majority of the staff was not well versed with it.

The Corporation has decided to implement e-governance in most of its departments and has zeroed in on Tata Consultancy System and SAP.

''The implementation of e-governance will increase corruption in many departments of the Corporation, wherein the staff is not well-versed with it,'' he said.

Mr Shelar also accused the Municipal Commissioner of not tabling the budget of the Corporation before the Standing Committee for its clearance, despite the lapse of more than two months after presenting the budget.
