Bharati Shipyard bags Rs 351 crores order from SCIL

New Delhi, Oct 11 (UNI) Bharati Shipyard Ltd today said it has bagged an order from the Shipping Corporation of India Ltd (SCIL) for design, construction and supply of four Anchor Handling Tugs cum Supply Vessels (AHTSVs) of 80 Tons Bollard Pull capacity.

''The total price of each vessel is 22.32 million dollars totaling to 89.28 million dollars. The contract signing ceremony will be held on October 15, 2007,'' a statement said.

The compsny's total order book now stands at Rs 4,430 crores.

The vessels will be constructed by using Havyard Design, which will be used for the first time for such vessels built in India.

The design allows higher DWT and higher cargo carrying capacity compared to other 80 tons AHTSVs with similar dimensions.

The AHTSVs function as a support and as a supply vessel in rig operations as also help in anchor handling facilities to position the rig appropriately.
