Bajaj launches the new 200 cc Avenger at Rs 64,830

New Delhi, Oct 11 (UNI) India's premier two-wheeler automobile company, Bajaj Auto today launched the new 200cc Avenger DTS-i cruiser bike priced at Rs 64,830 (ex-showroom New Delhi) in Pro-biking showrooms across the country .

The new Avenger now comes with a powerful 200 cc oil cooled engine capable of generating a top-speed of 115 km/h.

The engine delivers 17.5 ps at 8,000 rpm with outstanding torque of 16.78 Nm at 6,000 rpm.

Bajaj Auto has taken a conscious decision to move away from the lower margin, low capacity bikes with emphasis on higher cc motorcycles.

It already has the Bajaj Pulsar DTS-i in the 200 cc category and the new Avenger is on a similar technology with similar platform and performence.

The difference between the two in power is that the 200cc Pulsar DTS-i engine generates 18 Ps of power and at 6,000 rpm the avenger cruiser is less torquey than the sporty Pulsar 200cc.

The oil cooler helps this hi-performance engine to maintain the engine oil Temperature even at high rpms, which in turn maintains the engine oil viscosity.

The new bike has changes like a tank-set, housing a all-new tank mounted fuel gauge along with the other indicators.

The bike also comes with the international standards windshield option like the Bullet machismo.

Though the Yamaha's Enticer is no longer in production, Avenger 200cc DTSi cruiser will face the heat from the cult bike maker Royal Enfield which is expected to bring its new Thunderbird 350cc to India.
