Argentina keen on training Indian footballers

Chandigarh, Oct 11 (UNI) Argentina, the football power house of South America is keen to share the skills of Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi with the Indian footballers.

A step in this direction has already been taken by Mr Carlos Alvarez, the Argentina Ambassador to India. He has already approached certain soccer clubs of Kolkata and Kerala and offered the services of coaches from his country.

" In my country football is a passion, a way of life ", Mr Alvarez who was part of a visiting Latin American and Carribean delegation said here today.

He explained that trainers are the most important aspect of football and his country had a number of skilled trainers. " These trainers can come here to teach the Indians the finer arts of soccer", he added.

" Since it is a ardous task to fly a full team to Argentina, it will be a lot easier for trainers to come here and train the footballers of the country", he added while making it clear that no major investment of any sort was involved in his endavour.
