UP Police recruitment scam: hearing put off till Nov 26

Allahabad, Oct 10 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court today put off till November 26 the hearing into the police recruitment scam in Uttar Pradesh and extended the interim order granted in favour of the sacked constables till this date.

The order was passed by Justice Rakesh Tiwari on the petitions filed by several sacked cops.

The HC further directed the Uttar Pradesh governmnet to reply in this regard till November 19 and present the probe report and other related documents before it.

Earlier, the HC had granted interim order in favour of the constables, who approached the court against their dismissal order that the posts vacant after their dismissal from service could not filed up.

Altogether over 20,000 policemen were recruited during the previous Samajwadi Party regime in the state and several irregularities were detected during the probe conducted by the present BSP government when it came to power in May this year.
