Jamshedpur,Oct 10 (UNI) The East Singhbhum district police have nabbed six CPI(Maoist)activists and three of their sympathisers from Kudyani village under Patamda police station.

Police today said the rebels were arrested when they were about to return home after attending a training camp at Dalma hills near here yesterday.

The police team also conducted raids inside a house in Patamda where the ultras were given shelter by a villager, said to be a sympathiser of the naxalites. But the house owner managed to escape, police added.

Later, the arrested rebels and their sympathisers confessed before the police that the training camp was being organised in the Dalma hills for more than one month and the village youth in and around the area were being invited to join the camp, the sources said.

Significantly, naxalite activities were intensified in the Patamda area bordering West Bengal in recent time and the police team was conducting raids to flush out the rebels.

Meanwhile, police launched a massive combing operation in the Gudabandha police station in the district following the attack on the treasurer of Nagarik Suraksha Samity (NSS), Shailendra Baskey and killing of his bodyguard by the armed Maoists near Kasiabera village yesterday.
