Police puts up amended challan against Cong MPs son

Kapurthala, Oct 10 (UNI) The police today put up a ammended challan in the court of Additional Chief Judicial magistrate Harveen Bharadwaj for trial against Rana Inderpartap Singh, son of Jalandhar Congress MP Rana Gurjit Singh and seven others.

They were booked for firing at the house of SAD district General Secretary Dilwinder Singh Sidhu at village Sidhwandona on night of Febuary 12, the eve of assembly elections.

The Police charged the accused under section 307,172B,188, 427,148,149 IPC and 25,54,59 Arms act.

The other accused in the case are Rana Hardeep Singh, nephew of Rana Gurjit Singh, Amritpal Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Kamal Kumar, Varinder Kumar and Vikram Passi.

Rana Inderpartap Singh had already obtained anticipatopry bail from the Punjab and Haryana High court in this case.

The Judge has fixed the hearing of the case to November 29.
