North India Tourism Conclave begins on Oct 12

Chandigarh , Oct 10 (UNI) With a view to create cross-linkages between tourism and other activities and to understand the multiplier effect of tourism on the socio-economic development, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Chandigarh Administration along with the states of Punjab and Haryana will organize 'The North India Tourism Conclave (N'TOUR)' from October 12 to 13.

Giving further information in this regard here today, an official spokesman said that N'TOUR was in continuation with the steps taken towards developing a mechanism for continuous engagement for maintaining competitiveness in the tourism sector in the region.

He said that it was becoming increasing important for the Northern states to evolve a common strategy to promote tourism in a holistic manner.

He further added that the Conclave would aim at providing a common platform to the stakeholders to showcase their products and to discuss matters threadbare. "It would also help in formulating a comprehensive strategy towards sustainable growth of the tourism industry in Northern India ", he maintained.

Throwing light at the objectives of the Conclave, the spokesman added that it would provide a common platform for attracting investments in the tourism sector, initiating dialogue with the potential investors and business partners and developing an integrated plan to promote tourism infrastructure. He maintained that it would also boost understanding of new innovations in this sector and promoting domestic tourism. He further said that the Conclave would assist learning of best practices and evolving strategies for product development and marketing on the national and international arena.
