Puducherry, Oct 10 (UNI) The Puducherry government Group 'D' employees (Central) Association would take part in the All-India General strike on October 30.
Adressing a press conference here today, Association President Selvam said the employees would organise a demonstration in front of the Chief Secretariate here on October 17.
The Association urged the Union Government to implement the pay scale putforth by them in the sixth pay commission and provide a monthly interim relief of Rs 1,000 till the implementation of the pay commission, among other things.
The association urged the Puducherry administration to fix the basic pay of attenders working in the laboratories of the government colleges and schools at Rs 3,050, fill up the peon post by promoting attenders and watchmen on seniority basis irrespective of educational qualifications.
Expressing concern over the outsourcing of group "D" posts Mr Selvam urged the administration to immediately stop such activities.
He pointed out that private security personnel were posted in the Directorate of Accounts and Treasuries and the Government Automobile Workshop here.
