Country's GSM cellular users climb to 153.30 million
New Delhi, Oct 10 (UNI) With Vodafone Essar's cellular subscriber base posting 4.52 per cent rise in September over the previous month, the highest by a pan-India player, the total GSM customers touched 153.30 million from 147.70 million in August.
Vodafone Essar added 1.5 million subscribers in September over the previous month to 35.65 million whereas Bharti Airtel came a close second registering a 4.40 per cent increase with subscribers base reaching 48.8 million.
Idea Cellular's GSM cellular customer touched 18.67 million, registering a jump of 4.48 per cent during the said period. However, Spice showed a meagre 2.47 per cent increase to 3.4 million total subscribers.
State-run BSNL posted 2.02 per cent increase in September over the last month, touching 30.30 million customers in the month whereas MTNL subscriber base grew 1.58 per cent to 2.7 million.
Aircel showed 5.50 per cent increase to 8.03 million and BPL Mobile grew 4.67 per cent, touching the subscriber base 1.15 million.
