Two crushed to death in road mishap

Jalandhar, Oct 9 (UNI) Two pilgrims were crushed to death by a number of vehicles on NH-I near Goraya in the district last night, police today said.

Police said the deceased who were identified as Pawan Kumar and Ajmer Singh, both residents of Ludhiana, were on their way to Mata Chintpurni shrine in Himachal Pradesh on a scooter.

The two probably fell off the two wheeler after it was hit by a vehicle. Later, the vehicles that passed by the accident site crushed them to death. They were identified from the registration papers recovered from the smashed scooter and their identity cards, police added..
