Leaders' plea to YSR on paddy MSP, threaten stir
Hyderabad, Oct 9 (UNI) A delegation of Opposition party leaders today urged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy to lead an all-party delegation to New Delhi to impress upon the Centre to announce a Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 1,000 per quintal of paddy even as they threatened to launch a stir in support of the demand.
Although as the Chief Minister promised to take up the matter with the Manmohan Singh Government during his next visit to the national capital, the Opposition leaders, including Former Minister T Sitaram and CPI's Ramakrishna, insisted the government to lead an all-party delegation to voice their concern to the Union Government.
Later, talking to reporters, the leaders condemned the state government's attitude and threatened to launch a stir in support of the paddy growers all over the state.
