JD(S) betrayed people by allying with BJP: CPI(M)
Gulbarga, Oct 9 (UNI) CPI(M) Karnataka unit Secretary G N Nagaraj today said former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy did the right thing by refusing to hand over power to the BJP and saved the State from 'communal forces'.
Speaking to mediapersons here, he, however, said the Janata Dal (Secular) had betrayed the people of the State by giving up its secular image and allying with a ''communal party'' like the BJP.
This had resulted in the party losing the trust of the people, he added.
The party should now try to resurrect its secular credentials, Mr Nagaraj said.
