Dacoits loot Rs 34 lakh from UCO bank in Baripada

Baripada, Oct 9 (UNI) Armed dacoits today looted more than Rs 34 lakh from a branch of the UCO bank in this town this morning.

Top district police officers, including district Superintendent of Police S K Singh, rushed to the spot.

This was the second dacoity in the UCO Bank in Orissa during the last fortnight. On September 28, armed dacoits had looted Rs 35 lakh from the UCO bank located on the main road bazar in Rourkela.

Seven armed dacoits entered the Rourkela branch of the UCO Bank at around 0930hrs and looted the money from the strong room.

Police suspected that the dacoits were from outside the state but till today no one had been arrested.
