Blueline operators asked to file affidavits on details of opns
New Delhi, Oct 9 (UNI) A day after the Delhi High Court asked the Delhi Government to submit a list Blueline buses alongwith the names of drivers, the Government today asked the operators to file affidavits within two days containing the details of their operations.
Sources in the State Transport department said the department was issueing notices to the nearly 3500 blueline operators asking them to file affidavits in two days time listing various details of their operations, including the drivers operating them.
A division bench yesterday expressed concern over Sunday's horrific accident wherein a blueline bus ran over 17 bystanders near Badarpur killing eight and injuring nine and sought a list from the Delhi Government with the name of drivers and buses they were attached with.
The Court also sought explanation from the NCT government on subletting system of buses.
The Delhi Government has to file a status report in this regard on thursday.
At a high-level meeting last night, chaired by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and attended by State Transport Minister Haroon Yousuf and senior officers of the transport department, deliberations were held on the reply to be given to the court.
