Nagaland: Accident toll rose to 18, CM condoles

Kohima, Oct 09: Nagaland Governor K Sankarnaryanan and Chief Minister Neiphu Rio today condoled the death of 18 people in yesterday's bus accident at Mokokchung, 162 km from here.

The accident when the bus on its way to Tuli from Mokokchung overturned at NH 61 near Impur, about 15 km away from Mokokchung and fell into a 300 ft deep gorge, killing 13 persons on the spot and injuring many others.

At least five of the critically injured died in the Mokokchung Civil Hospital.

The driver of the bus is reportedly absconding and police investigation was on to ascertain the cause of mishap.
