Every household in the village, situated at Mahendra Parwat in the picturesque Konkan of Ratnagiri district, is ready to welcome the first 'Parshuram Yatra' slated for November 15.
On the auspicious occasion of ''Lab Panchami'', Jagadguru Sankharacharya of Kashi Sumeru Peethadeshwar Narendranand Saraswati will perform the ''Abhisekh'' of the presiding deity, Lord Parashuram.
According to a legend, the great Maratha warrior Shivaji Maharaj visited the temple of Lord Parashuram before proceeding for the mega event of coronation, which took place in Raigadh.
The Yatra is being organized by Mahasangram, a non-political organization, recently set up for all social and religious activities.
The villagers held a meeting to finalise the schedule of the Yatra here yesterday. The meeting was attended by Founder of the Organisation Om Prakash Sharma, Temple Trust's Chairman Nishikant Joshi, Hiralal Bhutala, and Mrs Marathe and Mr Ashok Tambe of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
Mr Joshi said that it is after 40 years that Shanakaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham will be visiting the temple for the Yatra.
